The Church Away Day

We had a great church away day at Bovey Tracey yesterday. If you weren’t able to be there, I hope you will find out more from the people who were there, and watch out for the information that’s going to be posted up in church over the next few weeks. We spent the morning looking at the Mission Action Plan – how we might put our aims into action across the two churches. And then in the afternoon we had presentations about St Barnabas and St Michael’s. It was good for each church to learn a little more about the other parish, and we were grateful for the church members from Bovey Tracey who came and listened, and asked searching questions about our life as the church. Then the folk from Bovey Tracey laid on a superb spread. Great hospitality, great conversation, and a great sense of the Lord leading and guiding us. All in all a good day!

For those who are interested, I have inserted here, the presentation I made about St Michael’s parish. The statistics at the end of the presentation certainly provoked a lot of discussion and comment. How are we to respond to the level of need around us? That was the question which got us all thinking and praying…
